Light in the DarknessSterling silver & Royston turquoise owl earrings 
 
2 1/2" length x 1" width
with locking sterling silver earwires.
Sawn, stamped, forged, soldered in layers, filed, sanded, oxidized, polished. Turquoise bezel set over bail.  Backs are stamped "Light in the Darkness".
 
This Owl design came after my dance with breast cancer. I would go out for walks in the woods. On my hardest days, an owl would visit me. Every time it visited me, I would gasp, "You are here today!" My heart would be lifted, my spirit shifted immediately. As I walked it hopped along tree to tree, along my path until I reached a big rock and I would sit down and visit with it. I know, to some, I am that crazy lady in the woods but I don't see myself as that. My owl friend helped me through some very tough moments.
 
For me this owl represents light in our darkest moments. The gifts that come in enduring them and rising above them. As an owl sees in the dark, so can we see light through the darkness.
