The Rooted in Hope Tree Series began from memories as a child. We went fishing with my dad a lot. The side of his boat had the writting, "The Fishing Fliceks". I absolutely love fishing. Mind you, my style of fishing then and still true today, is having an armful of blankets to create a nest & packing a backpack filled with my favorite things: my book to read, my sketchpad, pencils and watercolors to draw and paint the beauty I am seeing.
 
The trees growing out of the cracks in rocks always drew my facination. For something to be able to root into the tiniest and most restrictive places and grow into such beauty; that is strength and determination and yet effortless. 
 
It's one of those life lessons from nature.
Aboslutely astounding. That is us as well.
